The DuQuoin Tourism Commission was incorporated on May 12, 1989.  A group of business people formed the commission who felt that tourism would give a bright future to the community.  The commission was founded and now in 2008 the DuQuoin Tourism Commission is involved in their 19th year of working harder than ever towards events and bringing visitors into the community.

With volunteers and the commission they planted pear trees and planters of a variety of flowers down Main Street so in the spring with the help of The Garden Club the planters show off their full wonder of color and beauty.

Banners are placed on the old fashion light poles for a warm "Welcome" to our visitors. The Pear trees are showing off their beautiful flowers each spring.  The planters give that touch of fresh beauty to our downtown Main Street with friendly businesses and shops. We are friendly folk who like to show off their friendship and kindness.
